We made several onesies for a friend’s baby shower this month, here’s many images and descriptive instructions so you too can create unique baby clothes!
A onesie is the perfect blank canvas. Start by placing a cardboard sheet inside of the garment so it just fits.
Choose a Stencil1 stencil and your favorite colors of specialty fabric paint. Fabric paint does not wash off as long as you follow the manufacturer’s instructions and heat seal your final design with an iron.
Using very little paint on your stencil brush, dab in the open areas of the stencil in an up and down motion.
Reveal your design, no need to wait for the paint to dry.
Now you made one onesie, time to stencil an entire waredrobe!
How about a Summer outfit using the Ice Cream 4-Pack Stencil set?
Tape your stencil in place…
You can use small stencil brushes if you are painting different areas of the stencils in different colors
Tip- for dimension, paint the sides of the ice pops in a darker shade of paint than what you used on the front!
How’s this for a fun baby outfit!
We chose the lipstick kiss stencil from the Diva 4-pack Set for the next one, a baby covered in kisses!
Place the stencil on the onesie
Fill in the design with fabric paint in an up and down motion.
Mwhaa! One kiss done, how many more will you add?
A playground hit!
Here we combined pattern and imagery for this look.
And we also have letter stencils, vary the color of the letters for a playful look! Hope you like the onesie’s – please share your onesie creations with us at @stencil1
