Ahh, the coveted Louis Vuitton Bag. A luxury at over $2k a bag. But what is even more luxurious is having a one-of-a-kind item, like a custom stenciled Louis Vuitton bag! Let me give you a little background information before we dive into this project. A friend of mine told me she had a little accident involving her Louis Vuitton Bag, where a pen had exploded inside leaving a mean stain. You can see the ink stain in the lower left corner of the bag, pictured above. She asked me to do my stencil magic and cover the ink stain. I will show you how I did it.
As mentioned before, I really recommend using another bag to test out this craft project before running into the possibility of ruining a very expensive bag. Here’s my fake Louis Vuitton with the design painted on it. I felt confident to go for the real deal now!
First, I laid down stripes of navy blue paint to add some style to this redo and to make sure that the stencil leopard had a nice background.
And then a red stripe…
Next was the silhouette part of the leopard stencil which I custom mixed a color to match the color of the leather. I placed the leopard a little bit over the blue and red stripes.
After painting the silhouette, I used the second layer detailed stencil to paint the details of the leopard with black paint.
Then I had to paint the bottom of the bag to cover the rest of the stain.
