Customizing dish towels adds a personal touch to your kitchen. For this how-to you will need stencils, fabric paint, a stencil brush, a dishtowel, and optional low tack spray adhesive.
First, place your dishtowel on top of a cardboard sheet to provide a flat surface to paint on. Place your stencil where you would like your design to appear. You can use low tack spray adhesive on the back of the stencil to hold it firmly in place. After a light even spraying of the adhesive, let it dry 60 seconds before placing it on the fabric. Alternatively, you can tape your stencil in place with masking or painter’s tape.
Next, you need a stencil paintbrush, fabric paint, and a plate for the paint. The plate helps to tape paint off the brush as stenciling is a dry brush technique, very little paint is the secret to clean design work!
Once the stencil is placed and all your supplies are ready, you can go ahead and start painting. We used very little paint with a dabbing brush style to ensure that every detail of the stencil is filled.

Lift the stencil, no need to wait for it to dry.
There you have it! Your antlered deer is now on your dish towel! Be sure that the paint is dry before ironing the design to heat seal the paint. It will then be water-proof and dish ready!
