It doesn’t cost much to make your very own custom art for your space using our Mums stencil and these flat canvas panels from Target. The best part is, you can say you made it yourself!
Here’s the canvases and the Chrysanthemum stencil you will use. You will also need acrylic paint, stencil brushes, a flat brush and optional low tack spray adhesive to hold the stencil in place.
Open your canvases and place them side by side.
One more pic of the happy couple…
We used a beautiful indigo blue and brushed the paint on in a rougher texture to look like cloth or denim.
Isn’t it rich?
This is two coats with this very brushed look. Allow to dry.
Place the panels next to each other and you can place the stencil on both so your design covers both panels. When hung on a wall and slightly separated, the results are quite pleasing.
We used some complimentary colors for the flowers. Stencil in and up and down motion with very little paint on your stencil brush.
Check your work out and let dry before painting in more flowers. You can speed up the drying time with a hair dryer. Stencil more mums where you would like. We used turquoise, pale yellow, and white acrylic paints.
You can make as many panels as you want with this DIY depending on your wall space! Please share your projects with us at @stencil1
