I paid a visit to Chronicle Books in San Francisco recently to go over promotional parties for the new book. Keep posted for that! Well, as I arrived, I saw that the sidewalks were tagged with my stencils using chalk spraypaint! So fun! Thanks Chronicle!

Instafriends at CHA Chicago 2008

A very happy friday to everyone! I’m here to introduce myself as Stencil 1’s newest team member! This is Ed and I getting set up at the Chicago CHA show, marvelling at the wonders of the skeleton onesie! The perfect outfit for the lil’ rocker baby in every family! I digress…my name is Elaine Barr, this is me (http://elainebarrdesigns.blogspot.com/). I’m a die hard crafter, my hands are always busy! I absolutely love Stencil 1! The imagery is soooooo cool..here are a few things I’ve made;

Stencil 1 Deer ATC on Stampbord

This is the deer stencil on an ATC sized piece of Stampbord…a nice gesso-ed surface that the Stencil 1 sprays look Fabulous on!

High Heel Background paper

This is a fun piece of background paper. I improvised for the polka dot background..but the real star is the awesome high heel stencil, in black, red and pink sprays!

I’ll be posting a lot more samples, how to’s and glamour shots…:)! Be sure to check back..and often!

Hand-made cards make the perfect presentation for gifts on Christmas! Using some of our mini stencils, my friends and I sat down and made these cards. We used some acrylic paints, a brush, and some blank Strathmore cards with deckled color edging. Happy Holidays from Stencil1!

I checked out the Banksy exhibit in Chelsea. It was great to see, it was a private collection on display and rather than real rats running in the gallery as was done in London, there were Rubber one’s scattered about, but it was still a great collection to view.
This was my favorite piece, exhibited right before Christmas:
