What’s my favorite holiday? Halloween! Why not trick-or-treat in style with a custom tote bag to carry your candy? and while you’re at it, let’s customize your pumpkins with some coordinating images as well!

I used the owl stencil to customize an inexpensive, natural canvas tote bag.

I masked the outside areas with paper and used the BROWN Stencil1 Sprayer to paint with.

Then I used acrylic paint and a stencil brush to stencil a deer on one pumpkin. I then stenciled a mini jolly roger onto another smaller pumpkin.

here’s how they all came out! Now you’re ready for trick-or-treating in style!

This is the Halloween mini set available at Stencil1.com.  We also have all these designs you see in larger 8 1/2″ x 11″ size as well as the Antlered Deer. Please peruse the site for all the designs. Many of these designs are also in the book  Stencil101!

Today, I am stenciling a linen pillow case.I chose the antlered deer from Stencil101 for my project.

I ironed the pillow case to assure I had a flat surface to paint and placed the stencil where I wanted my proud deer to appear. Then lightly painted in the open stencil areas with fabric paint and a stencil brush.

Here’s my final result! A great gift for my friend’s Upstate home!

When I was done, I was very pleased with the clean up of the new stencils. They are made of varnished card stock so I wiped the paint off with a damp paper towel. Super easy! You can see the full step-by-step instructions in the book!

Today, I removed all the stencils from my first copy of the book to get busy with these stencils! So all the stencils are pre-cut and the pages are perforated for easy removal.

After I removed all the stencils, I placed them into the pocket in the back of the book. Now I can sift through them and pick out what I will use easily. See my next posting for my first project!

An artist who goes by the name of CLARK CLARK is using stenciling to spread a great and simple message: VOTE. Tonite, September 25, he will be a part of a political art exhibition entitled Party Headquarters: Voting is Just the Beginning taking place at Pratt on 14th Street in Manhattan- 144 West 14th Street, 2nd floor. I got a preview of the show and his work will be an intense layering of his signature stenciling. And I hope everyone takes his message seriously, so please vote!
