Give your plain white tee that extra POP with some color and a stencil! This DIY features an ombré technique that can easily be done with any two colors. Learn how!

Things you will need: A plain white tee, two or more paint and a paint brush, and a Stencil1 Small Image Stencil.

Gather your materials. To start off your shirt, place cardboard in in between your shirt to prevent paint from seeping to the other side of the shirt.

With the stencil of your choice, place it in your desired location. We decided to go with the Stencil1 Antlered Deer Stencil on the Levi’s® Sunset Pocket Tee. We placed it directly over the pocket!

Tip: Spray some spray adhesive to the back of your stencil. This especially helpful for detailed stencils, and it won’t leave a sticky residue on your shirt!

Grab your first color. Here, we chose red. Start off by painting just the bottom of the stencil. Repeat with your second color (in this case purple) but instead, at the top of the stencil.

Next, mix the two colors and paint the middle of the stencil so the top color and bottom color blend!

Once the paint is dry, carefully remove the stencil to reveal the final image.

And that’s it! An easy ombré deer!

New York is known for many things! One of our favorite things about New York is their huge biking community. Here’s a T-Shirt we made for our Levi’s® In-Store Artist-In-Residence event. Just another sneak peek of many you can expect at the event!

Things you will need: A T-Shirt, paint and a paint brush, and a Stencil1 Small Single Image stencil.

Place the stencil of your choice in your desired location. Here we are using the Fixed Gear Bike stencil!

Load up your brush and start painting away! Here we are using Pebeo‘s Setacolor Opaque paint in Black. Be sure to wipe off excess paint on a paper towel or plate and paint using a dabbing motion. This will prevent paint from seeping underneath the stencil, especially for detailed stencils!

Once dry, carefully remove the stencil to reveal the image!

Why buy more than one of the same stencil? Stencil1 stencils are durable, washable, and reusable! With just a little water and soap, you can clean your stencil and use it over and over again!

Once your stencil is clean and dry, flip the stencil to the other side to mirror the original image and repeat!

Voilà! It’s done!

The denim jacket is a timeless piece of clothing that will never go out of style! Revamp your old denim jacket with the use of Product of the Year, Stencil1 Repeat Patterns for a more urban, street look. Our repeat wallpaper stencils aren’t only for walls. Along with Levi’s®, we bring you our take on the denim jacket in preparation for our In-Store Artist-In-Residence!  Come on, try it out!

Things you will need: Denim jacket, paint and a paint brush, and a Stencil1 Repeat Pattern stencil.

Take the stencil of your choice and place it wherever you’d like on your denim jacket. Here we’re using the Stencil1 Staggered Triangle repeat pattern stencil on the Levi’s® Trucker Jacket! If you plan on only painting one portion of the jacket, use some tape to tape off the edges for a clean finish.

Load up your brush and start painting away! The best method to use when painting with stencils is a dry brush (no water, just paint!) method using a dabbing motion. This ensures that no paint will seep underneath the stencil.

Once the paint is dry, carefully lift up the stencil to reveal the pattern!

Continue to paint the pattern using the register marks on the stencil as a guide. This will help you repeat the pattern successfully on any surface no matter what size!

Express yourself! Here’s another sneak peek for an upcoming event we have with Levi’s® this month celebrating the month of LGTB Pride. Spread some love with Stencil1 and Levi’s® with your very own Pride T-Shirt!

Things you will need: Any T-Shirt, paint and a paint brush, and any Stencil1 stencil.

Using the stencil of your choice, place it on the shirt in your desired location. Here, we’re using the *NEW* Stencil1 Equality Stencil 4-Pack!

Grab your paint and paint brush and load your brush with paint. Remove any excess paint on a plate or paper towel to prevent any bleeding underneath the stencil. Start painting over stencil in a dabbing motion. This dry brush method is perfect for any detailed stencil! (Tip: add a piece of tape to each side of the stencil to keep it in place)

Keep building multiple layers of paint until you have reached your desired opacity.

Once dry, carefully remove the stencil.

Continue to decorate your shirt. The more stencils, the more love! Maybe a Stencil1 Letters & Numbers stencil will help you get your message across!

You don’t have to only use the front of the shirt! Here we added an equal sign to the sleeve of the shirt.

SNEAK PEEK!

We’re gearing up for an upcoming event with Levi’s® this mid-June where we will be customizing purchased items in-store using our very own Stencil1 stencils! More details to come. Here’s a little preview of what you can expect for the event.

Things you will need: Any T-shirt, paint and a paint brush, and a Stencil1 Small Image stencil.

Place the stencil of your choice on the shirt. We placed the 6 x 6 Anchor Stencil right above the chest area on the left. Use some tape, if necessary, on the top and bottom of the stencil to hold the stencil in place.

Using your brush, pick up some paint and dab the excess paint on a paper towel or plate. This will ensure that paint will not seep through under the stencil or through the shirt.

Once the paint is dry, carefully lift the stencil to reveal the final product!

Repeat throughout the shirt as much as you’d like! We decided to stop here and keep it minimal. This is a perfect way to amp up your wardrobe for the Summer.
