Martha Stewart and Cynthia Nixon meet Stencil1

Ok, well maybe not Goth but when Stencil1 was featured on Martha Stewart, she painted the Jolly Roger stencil. Martha+Skulls=I was loving this odd Juxtaposition! Apparently, Martha LOVES Halloween as do I. So I sat in the audience as guest star Cynthia Nixon and Martha made some two-process Halloween shirts. I showed the producers a bleaching technique using Clorox Bleach Pens that I learned from Syrie at TreeHouse Brooklyn and they loved it. It was very inspiring and we are grateful for the appearance. Watch the 2 part how-to video! Stencil1 on Martha

I was on a lunchbreak from a consulting job in midtown Manhattan one afternoon when this guy walked by wearing this awesome hoodie with our turntable stencil repeated on it. I had to ask “where did you get that?” and he told me his girlfriend made it for him. How nice, That made my day!

Hand-made Prototype of Book

Hello! I’m Ed Roth. No, not Ed “Bid Daddy Roth” but Ed Roth nonetheless! I wanted to briefly tell you about Stencil1. When I initially started Stencil1, I conceived it as a book of stencils. I designed 50 stencils and had them laser cut. I then designed a prototype book to shop around to publishing houses. It didn’t go exactly as I planned, most publishers just didn’t ever see a book like it since it had stencils in it so they passed. I decided to sell my designs individually and designed the website and just jumped in! So that’s how I started it.
