How did I become the stencil guy? Well, I have always enjoyed street art/graffiti and painting /decorative arts, faux finishing, etc…Several years ago, when I moved back to NY and settled in Williamsburg, I opened an art gallery named WhoDoWeAppreciate. We had monthly shows, showcasing up-and-coming street artists. Our goal was to display and sell affordable art. After each show, we would also create an online gallery of the art for sale. This venture further exposed me to one of my passions, street art and graffiti. We had shows for artists such as Dalek and Mike Giant. After a year or so, I moved on to other work and focusing on my own artwork and designs. I also work as a motion graphics artist and work as a consultant in NY, my other company is designTechnicians. I then decided I wanted to do something a little more hand-made and off the computer so I conceived Stencil1. So that’s me!
