Stencil Style 101 coming in September 2012

I can’t tell you how excited I am to say I have a new apparel based book coming out! Stencil Style 101 presents a whole new take on DIY fashion! I’ve created 20 stencils perfect for customizing clothing and accessories. Patterns like argyle, houndstooth, chevron, leopard print, and polka dots pair with iconic images such as feathers, buttons, records, and stars in endless combinations for personalized clothing that will make heads turn. The book includes 25 step-by-step projects for stenciling on leather handbags, sneakers, wool coats, bike helmets, bangles, and so much more! Best of all, the stencils can be reused—just wipe clean and store in the handy folder at the back.

A little Stencil1 Sprayers, the Birdies Stencil & a square canvas…
Back and fresh from a three day week-end, which I spent stenciling! Of course! Here is a cute little 5 inch square canvas, that I covered with Stencil 1 sprays. On a gessoed canvas, the sprays don’t soak in right away, so you can play around with dropping other colors into it and watch them spread around. I let the canvas sit overnight and then next day added the stenciling, using black acrylic paint. To get the diamond shapes, I stenciled through the perforation from the bird stencil;
