Japanese indigo textile stenciled napkins

IMG_5718

Inspired by beautiful Japanese textiles, this tutorial is going to teach you how to transform these plain, dark blue napkins, into a something special for your next dinner party.

Things you will need: Plain cloth napkins, paintbrushes, Stencil1 small single image stencils, and Tulip soft fabric paint.

Step 1. Gather your materials. We chose an indigo blue napkin to start in line with our inspiration, Japanese textiles. Place your desired stencil on top of the napkin and position it to your liking. For this tutorial, we are using the new Cherry Blossom Branch stencil. We resized the design for craft projects like card making, napkins, and many more!

Step 2. Load your brush. To compliment the theme, we chose white fabric paint. Paint using a dabbing motion until the color is opaque!

Step 3. Wait a few minutes until it’s dry before removing the stencil.

Try using other stencils! We also used the Blossom stencil and ornaments stencil. Be sure to show them off at your next dinner party!
