Chalkboards, I love them. They can keep you organized, you can change part of the design by simply erasing what you chalked, and you can do some unexpected design elements on your chalkboard to make it next level.
I do lot of chalkboard design installation work for a gym in Brooklyn, appropriately named Chalk Gyms. In our GALLERY section you can see many walls I have created for them. My absolute favorite is a wall that people can add their input, it asked “What are your goals today?”If you have a wall in your home, what question would you put on your chalkboard wall? I want to do a new one saying I am Grateful For:”or maybe just a beautiful “GRATITUDE” and under it you can remind yourself everyday what you are grateful for.
My old office was all chalkboard walls. This was great for a home office as I could make reminders, lists, and I even had a calendar on the wall that I could constantly update. See the Container Store makeover and the featured chalkboard walls here
Chalkboards don’t have to just be a solid colored board or wall, why not add a permanent stenciled design as well and then you can draw and write with chalk around it, adding to it? Here’re a few examples of this idea:

And Chalkboards don’t need to be square or rectangles, why not make a chalkboard 7 foot grizzly bear on your wall? You can “tattoo” the bear each day, draw clothes on them, I can barely contain myself with how fun this is!
