This one’s for the kids! We channeled our inner child for this Ice Cream themed clock, here’s how to do it.
This wood clock is a part of Target’s Handmade Modern collection. It comes with fully functioning clock parts, just remove these parts and you will have this plain pine wood circle to customize. You can use acrylic paint and a flat brush to paint the base color, we used a striking pink.
Using the Ice Cream 4-pack Stencil Set and smaller stencil brushes, carefully paint in the open areas of your first ice cream cone. We placed a design basically at the 3,6,9, and 12 marks of the clock. We used traditional colors for ice cream, lot’s of pinks and oranges.
TIPS: Always use very little paint when stenciling. Dry your design before moving to the next ice cream design so you don’t place the stencil on top of wet paint. For some depth and a touch of trendiness you can do some gradient or ombre effects by painting two colors in the design such as from light orange to darker orange on the creamsicle. Have fun with it, it’s ice cream!
Once one, assemble the clock as instructed on the packaging. For extra points, customize the arms of the clock!
